GEO Bench

Experiments for pages that need answer-engine visibility.

This bench records whether a page structure is direct, entity-rich, source-ready, and easy for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or AI Overview to quote.

Current GEO status

2026-09-04 Search Visibility Report

AI Growth Bench remains technically healthy, but its main constraint is discovery and click-through rather than crawlability. Google Search Console recorded 189 property-level impressions and no clicks from August 5 through September 1, 2026. The latest complete seven-day window produced 61 impressions, up from 35 in the preceding seven days, while page-dimension rows represented 237 URL impressions across 21 pages. Google URL Inspection found 24 of 29 inspected URLs indexed and five unknown. The domain-matched GA4 property 539587380 recorded two sessions in the latest available 28-day window and none in the latest seven days. The fixed 30-check GEO baseline is complete: three answers mentioned AI Growth Bench and two displayed an aigrowthbench.com source, all for the branded definition prompt; the 27 non-brand checks produced no mention or citation. The next test is the same 30 checks on September 14 after a synchronized on-site treatment, with external distribution still a separate unexecuted action.

Next measurement

The flagship cohort fixes ten prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Its baseline is 30/30 complete with 3 mentions and 2 displayed citations. The same protocol will be repeated on 2026-09-14.

Results

Five evidence lanes

Mentions, citations, source URLs, AI referrals, and crawler visits remain separate.

Indexed surface versus verified citation checkpoint

Tested URLhttps://aigrowthbench.com/reports/2026-08-15-search-visibility-report

Test date2026-08-15

Target question

Is AI Growth Bench visible in search and AI answer engines?

Page pattern

Dated direct answer, measured index coverage, channel-specific evidence, evidence boundaries, content priorities, and next actions

Google indexing and AI crawler access are confirmed, but search clicks and displayed answer-engine citations are not. The report prevents crawler activity from being presented as GEO success and defines the next reproducible citation test.

Evidence

  • Google URL Inspection reports 19 of 23 sitemap URLs indexed, including the complete four-page Traffic Playbooks cluster.
  • GSC recorded 145 impressions and no clicks from 2026-07-18 through 2026-08-14.
  • The domain-matched GA4 property recorded two organic sessions in 28 days and none in the latest seven days.
  • Search and AI crawler user agents reached the site, but no displayed canonical source URL has been captured as citation proof.

Next action

Deploy the dated report, run the fixed answer-engine prompt set, and record the exact displayed source URL or an explicit no-citation result for every surface.

GEO citability and source-evidence gap

Tested URLhttps://aigrowthbench.com/geo-bench/geo-content-checklist

Test date2026-08-03

Target question

Why are indexed AI Growth Bench pages still earning little search or AI visibility?

Page pattern

Direct answers, question-led sections, source links, authorship, crawler access, and AI-readable context

The initial audit found weak page-level proof. Release 20260803T070528Z closed the on-page gap with self-contained answers, visible operator attribution, selective primary-source links, structured evidence, and original diagrams. The remaining GEO constraint is off-site entity evidence and real answer-engine citation observations.

Evidence

  • Public GEO analysis detects an optimal 134-167 word answer block on the entity page, case study, GEO checklist, and all three child playbooks.
  • All six strengthened pages score 82 for GEO readiness; the three child playbooks have AI citation-readiness scores of 82, 76, and 76 in the content analyzer.
  • The strengthened pages expose visible review attribution, TechArticle or Article structured data, primary-source links, and six content-image instances.
  • Major AI search crawlers are allowed and llms.txt exposes 26 canonical links and 39 facts.

Next action

Repeat manual citation tests after discovery catches up, capture the cited source URL for every result or miss, and add a verified external project/profile reference before expanding the URL inventory.

GEO discovery refresh and traffic baseline

Tested URLhttps://aigrowthbench.com/playbooks

Test date2026-07-28

Target question

Can AI Growth Bench be discovered and cited beyond its homepage?

Page pattern

Indexed hub, child-page discovery, crawler access, direct answers, and measurable search evidence

The Playbooks hub is indexed and the technical GEO surface remains healthy, but its three child pages are still unknown to Google. The next constraint is external discovery and cited-source testing rather than adding more schema or more pages.

Evidence

  • /playbooks is submitted and indexed with matching canonical evidence.
  • All three child playbooks remain unknown to Google as of 2026-07-28.
  • GSC recorded 64 impressions and 1 click from 2026-06-30 through 2026-07-25.
  • All 23 sitemap HTML URLs expose valid JSON-LD and internal outgoing links.

Next action

Request indexing for the three child pages after deployment, distribute the strongest child playbook externally, and capture cited URLs or explicit misses from the answer-engine prompt set.

GEO index coverage and citation-proof gap

Tested URLhttps://aigrowthbench.com/reports/2026-07-05-geo-visibility-report

Test date2026-07-21

Target question

Is AI Growth Bench ready to be cited by AI answer engines?

Page pattern

GSC URL Inspection evidence, crawler access, llms context, entity signals, platform status

The priority GEO evidence pages are now indexed. The immediate crawl-discovery gap has moved to the Traffic Playbooks cluster, while Perplexity, Gemini recovery, and Google AI Overview should stay pending until actual cited URLs are captured.

Evidence

  • Homepage, entity definition page, GEO Bench, GEO Visibility Bench, current GEO report, GEO content checklist, and AI Trend case study are submitted and indexed in URL Inspection.
  • /playbooks and all three child playbooks are unknown to Google as of 2026-07-21.
  • robots.txt allows major AI crawlers and llms.txt exposes canonical context for the project.

Next action

Request indexing for the four playbook URLs, then run the report prompts in Gemini, Perplexity, ChatGPT, Grok, and Google Search with source capture.

Home operating bench audit

Tested URLhttps://aigrowthbench.com/

Test date2026-05-22

Target question

What is AI Growth Bench and what does it demonstrate?

Page pattern

Project definition, operating snapshot, trend queue, system flow, report preview

The homepage clearly states the project identity and automation pipeline, but it still needs a short Q&A block and external source references before it can be treated as citation-ready.

Evidence

  • Public page returns HTTP/2 200 on the canonical HTTPS domain.
  • Visible content includes AI Growth Bench, Top scored keywords, Programmatic SEO, GEO Bench, Reports, and answer-engine language.
  • The page explains the bench as a working station for trend discovery, keyword scoring, page generation, index tracking, answer-engine review, and weekly reporting.

Next action

Monitor whether the new homepage FAQ and dedicated definition page improve Gemini recognition after indexing.

GEO Bench structure audit

Tested URLhttps://aigrowthbench.com/geo-bench

Test date2026-05-22

Target question

How does AI Growth Bench evaluate answer-engine readiness?

Page pattern

Target question, page pattern, scored dimensions, finding, evidence, next action

The GEO Bench page is already structured around target questions, scoring dimensions, and concise findings, which makes it the strongest candidate for the first citation-friendly public page.

Evidence

  • Visible content names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overview as target answer surfaces.
  • Each experiment separates target question, page pattern, finding, and measurable scores.
  • The missing layer is stronger source evidence attached to each scored claim.

Next action

Add source slots for Search Console observations, public SERP checks, and manual answer-engine test notes after Alex runs the logged-in searches.

Reports evidence format audit

Tested URLhttps://aigrowthbench.com/reports

Test date2026-05-22

Target question

How does AI Growth Bench turn experiments into portfolio evidence?

Page pattern

Weekly summary, wins, risks, next actions, evidence, tested URLs

The Reports page now separates outcomes from evidence, which makes the work easier for a client or employer to audit without relying on vague claims.

Evidence

  • Visible content includes Weekly reports, Reports, AI Growth Bench, GEO Bench, and citation language.
  • The report structure separates wins, risks, next actions, evidence, and checked URLs.
  • The page still needs future Search Console and answer-engine observations to become a stronger proof asset.

Next action

After Google Search Console is connected, add discovered/indexed URL counts and query impressions to the launch report.
